February 02 Swithced to BlogspotJanuary 07 A New yearLong time no blog.. finally jobless enough to blog:p..
After the 26th of July... College got back to its horrible regime after a week of holiday... As the boredom increased, frustration kicked in...I realised it was upto me to make a difference and liberate teh people from their boredom with the powers given to me by the great IEEE.
We planned an intra coll fest called 'Cognition'(named by me ofcourse;-))...That was the best part of the semster...a great change from monotonous voices of the professorszz...
Fest went off well... the festival was held on the 1st of Oct. had a great response...
After that we had a Prep Leave... In this prep leave, i went for a 10day vacation with my parents to singapore & malaysia, had a great time there...I missed WCG.. my team lost... well....cant please everyone!
Singapore trip from India was crazy was on the 28th of Oct... Dad had work at Colaba & was stuck there at 6pm, flight was to leave at 10:55pm ...We were at Borivli(which takes atleast a 2 hr commute by car at that time of the day....As usual, mom got all flustered... ofcourse.. i was chilled out at usual;)...finally we packed my dads stuff from home & met up with him at the airport by 9... We checked in our baggage.. & got NON RECLINING seats... 5 & half hour flight.. oh well.. we managed, finally reached singapore at 630am...Met up with my bro at the airport had a nice breakfast at teh deli france' at the airport.. things were fine.. We left for malaysia on the 30th, caught a bus from singapore in teh afternoon.. Thanks to teh great travel agents, we didnt have Visas for Malaysia.. SO we got our visas on Arrival at a complex called Sultan Abu Bakar Complex.. that took a while.. but we got it...On gettin the visa, we went to a town near by(forgot the name), had some grub... & returned to SUltan abu bakar complex to catch the bus which was to take us to Cameron Highlands(our actual destination)...
Cameron was amazin.. the temperatures there are 10 - 15C thru out the year.. it was awsum...literally Chilled out there... saw strawberry farms.. had fresh strawberry shake(slurp!)...it seems cameron is the only place in the world where strawberries are grown thru out the yr... we also saw an insect farm n stuff.. that was okay.. im not really into bugs!.. stick insect & leaf insect were cool though.. got amazingly camouflaged... we also went to a buddist temple.. pretty cool.. amazin to see the different versions of buddha they have.. Checked out a tea plantation.. has awsum tea at teh BOH(Best Of Highland) Tea estate... it was awsum..
We also saw Gundung Brinchang which is the tallest point in PENINSULAR Malaysia...It was absolutely amazin... we(my bro & me) climbed an observation tower.. the most awsum view ever... was amidst the clouds & could see the clouds roll over the hills...
We spent 3 days totally in Cameron, we then went to KL.. checked out petronas & Minara( the 2nd tallest Comm Tower in the world)...Next day, we went to Genting, the Tourist Island of malaysia...It was awsum, we travelled there by Cable car(Calles Gondolas).. the tallest cable car ride in teh world...amazin view.. again travellin thru the clouds..There we(Bro n me) werent allowed into teh casino coz we were wearin TShirts & Sandals.. oh well... jus wasnt destined to get into a casino i guess... We then caught a bus back to S'pore on that evening(6th Evening)... 7th i left from s'pore.. Booked a cab from bros place.. got a Mercedes Cab:-) E220... so, i atleast went to the airport in style;-)
Overall it was amazin:-) It was a great change from my usual Routine of CS!!
Then i returned, slogged my butt off studyin for exams.. And the university being the Bi*** that it is messed up most of our papers..
Vacations went on...Led to new years.. I spent my new year at marine drive.. saw some fireworks, then ate dinner at Chopstix.. had some xcllnt food... Aet Ice Cream at Baskin Robbins... Slurp!
then went to a cyb cafe(Private I) at churchgate, and played there from 2am to 5am... had a blast..
New Year was nice... but the next day was college.. i.e 2nd Jan...
Its now the 7th Of Jan... its the end of one week of College... Preperation for the Inter COllege Tech FEst called 'Tatva' have begun...its fun... Being the Chairman of the IEEE Student branch, i get to get some work done with my 'fellow IEEE members'...:-)
hahaha its fun... good break from studies.. I guess this new year ill prolly blog more than once a year!!!
July 31 A crazy weekTuesdays Rains were a bitch....
Well the rains were crazy for a lot of people.. i was one of teh fortunate ones who wasnt that badly affected....
My parents had a hard time tho...
My dad had left his office(at Thane) at arnd 6, the road he usually takes to Borivli was flooded. So, he took the route thru Eastern Xpress way... Got stuck at Dharavi for 3 hrs... On gettin out of Dharavi, he realised there was no way to really reach home by car, so he ate dinner at sum restaurant at Sion Circle, parked the car there and slept off in the car itself...
My mum works in MMK(bandra). Bandra was badly flooded, so arrangements were made for the staff to stay at Thadomal...
Next day, dad locked the car at SIon circle, walked all teh way to Bandra and met up with my mum. From there, My parents, and some of my mums colleagues walked all the way to Andheri on SV road. They waded thru Waist deep water... it was crazy.. no one knew whether there was a pothole ahead or not... Luckily, there was a long umbrella in teh car, wich my dad carried along. So, basically dad was chekin in taht waist deep water for MANHOLES ahead and was the guiding force for the people... Finally they reached Andheri where they found a Rickshaw...so, they caught the auto wich was now carrying 8 passengers and reached Borivli safely...
heres my story....
On tuesday, we were let off at 3pm.. Instead of headin home, my frends n I decided to play CS at fastminds...At arnd 5:30pm we got out.. to see that the lane was flooded on teh left side, with water gushing out of a manhole! It was crazy.. Next thing i saw was that the cellfone network is down... then i reached the hostel...I had gotten teh CD of Coupling from a frend(its a must see sitcom, really funny).. watched 15 mins of it... when suddenly, NO POWER!!!!... Thats when i realised I was totally cut off from the rest of the world... Oh well... Since we had nuthin to do.. we all went up to Sandys room.. made a few songs....No one seems to remember wot songs we made but that was pretty much it...That night ended by ankit all half asleep, tryin to stop me from playin the guitar in the middle of teh night...
Next mornin i woke up at arnd 10ish...Went for a nice cup of tea at the station... The tea rocked, enjoyed every sip of it... It went very well with weather....Meanwhile, my frends stranded at nerul, stayed at another frends place, and another plan for CS was made....& yadaadadada....
Basically the whole week was abt an hr or 2 of CS everyday.. and ABSOLUTELY nuthin the rest of the day...
Thursday, the water started gettin freaky... The water was yellowish....
Friday, Slighlty brown...
And saturday the WORST... DARK BROWN WATER!!!
i mean cmon! wots wrong with the Municipal Corp! But at the end of the day....if u cant beat em... Join em.. So, basically we just had to accept the freaky water and get on with our lifes...
Saturday i left for home.. took a bus from Nerul to Bandra...A nice 1 and a half hr stand in the bus... On reachin Bandra, Caught a train to borivli, and finally reached home at 4:45pm....
Home is nice.. Clean water! thats a releif... One thing i appreciate at home is the TV (wich u miss out in the hostel)... I mean, theres absolutely nuin to watch on TV.. but yet i enjoy watchin nuthin, jus surfin thru channels...its a gud was to pass time....that pretty much wraps up the week.. tomorrow & day after are again holidays..So will reach the hostel on tuesday.. till then nuin else to do but relax........

Just when u thot birds r stupid.... MSN Virtual Earth...A day before its official launch, MSN Virtual Earth has gone live. MSN appears to have been inspired by Google Maps in this combination of local search and mapping. Virtual Earth introduces a number of interface enhancements to the now-familiar draggable aerial web map, such as the ability to zoom in using your mouse scroll wheel, and a Location Finder to determine your location to determine your real-world location "using Wi-Fi technology." Microsoft blogger Robert Scoble claims the site may not perform at full capacity until Monday. |
